Walk It Out(side): Making the Most of Walking Field Trips (Grades preK-12)

9 am - 12 pm | 45-minute lunch break | Optional planning time from 12:45 - 2:15 pm
Come join us on a walking field trip in Golden Gate Park and experience strategies and routines for learning just outside the classroom door. Even brief excursions outside can support your students in their authentic curiosity, ownership of learning, and their socioemotional well-being. No matter your environment–whether urban, built, natural, or in between–find opportunities to connect to your community while critically examining your environment.
After a morning outside engaged in inquiry and place-based learning, we’ll have an optional afternoon session for supported planning and collaboration time.
This workshop is designed for teachers who work with grades PK-12. All educators are welcome.
